SECOND DISTRICT COURT OF APPEAL JUDICIAL VACANCY
The Second District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission announces a vacancy on the Second District Court of Appeal, created by the constitutionally-mandated retirement of Judge Douglas A. Wallace. The Commission is now accepting applications for this one (1) Second District Court of Appeal judicial vacancy. In order to be appointed, applicants must be residents within the jurisdiction of the Second District Court of Appeal, registered voters, and members of The Florida Bar for the past ten years.

Click on the “Publications” link to “Bar Forms & Applications”, scrolling through to “Judicial Nominating Commission applications”. Click on this link to “Application for Judicial seat”. Applicants will be asked to provide their names, addresses, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail addresses to facilitate communication with the Commission.
Applicants must submit a fully completed original and ten (10) printed copies of the application, to Cynthia Sullivan Oster, Chair, Second District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission, 601 E. Kennedy Blvd., 27th Floor, Tampa, Florida 33601-1110, no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2017. A recent photograph should be attached to the original and each copy.
In addition, applicants are requested to provide one electronic unredacted (PDF) copy of the application and one electronic redacted (PDF) copy of the application for submission in response to public records requests. Any material redacted must be limited to exempt or confidential information that is exempt from public inspection pursuant to Chapter 119 and Florida’s public records law. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
