No Place Like Home CLE – Training on Homestead Law and Probate Proceedings for Pro Bono Attorneys

“No Place Like Home…The Sequel” is a NEW CLE for Pro Bono Attorneys! This is a FREE basic training about homestead law and probate proceedings for pro bono attorneys interested in providing pre-disaster relief by assisting low income homeowners with clearing the title to their homes.

The CLE that will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Chester H. Ferguson Law Center, 1610 N. Tampa St., Tampa, FL 33602.

Those who attend must agree to accept a pro bono case within one year from the training.

Presentation topics include:

  • Probate and Property Titles by Tae Kelley Bronner of Tae Kelley Bronner, P.L.;
  • Medicaid-Considerations Before Conveyance of Property by Travis D. Finchum, Esq. of Special Needs Lawyers, P.A.;
  • Electronic Filing of Pleadings-A Practical Perspective by Gena Frisia and Freddie Concepcion, Clerk of the Circuit Court, Hillsborough County; and
  • What Not to Do in Probate Proceedings by Hon. Catherine M. Catlin, Administrative Judge, Probate, Guardianship, Mental Health & Trust Division, 13th Judicial Circuit and Rachael Simpson, Esq., Staff Attorney, 13th Judicial Circuit Court

Elva Kennis, Case Referral Manager, will match up the attorneys with mentor attorneys once a case has been accepted. We provide professional liability insurance, reimbursement of litigation costs and other litigation support such as court reporters and interpreters.
