About HAWL
In 1981, a small group of 15-20 women lawyers who met regularly for lunch had a vision. That vision has now turned into a well respected organization that boasts 254 members. Our organization was awarded FAWL's 2011 Outstanding Chapter Award (see Page 10 and 11 of the attached article for more details). Since its inception in 1981 and its subsequent incorporation in 1991, HAWL has promoted and recognized the contributions of women within the legal profession and judiciary, improved the administration of justice, disseminated legal knowledge to all members of the community and particularly to women, and improved relations among members of the Bar, the Judiciary and the public.
